Challenge

  • Develop a comprehensive jobs posting engine to allow Human Resources employees to present available job openings on the public web site.
  • Develop a method for tracing job applicants back to the original Human Resources employee who posted the job opening.
  • Create an easy-to-use administrative capability to track job postings in different areas across the company.

Solution

  • Created a searchable jobs database where users could find job openings based on category or keyword.
  • Allowed users to post their resumes in addition to the job application.
  • Created a SQL Server database back-end to facilitate all job posting applications
  • Developed administrative interface that allows ViaSystems administrators to add, edit and modify job posting rights to the system.
  • Developed online help system to aid users in the job application process.
  • Integrated jobs posting engine into existing user interface design.

Result

  • Initially launched site; Human Resources employees around the world are using the system to process available job openings and transactions.
